1. What are your initial thoughts on the documentaries ‘The Decline’ and ‘Recreated’?

Responses: 
  • Recreated seems like a really unique idea and I found the demonstrations really interesting with how the sounds are made
  • I think they are both very strong ideas, the first one had a very powerful message behind it
  • I really like both of these pitches, especially the first one, I think that you can add a lot of emotion as you clearly car for this subject and this could potentially change your documentary and make it miles above everyone else, also you can do it for yourself as well as this
  • I feel as if recreated is an interesting documentary idea, folly is something that isn't covered as much as other parts in the music industry and a lot of people wont know about it and is something people would want to know about.
  • I thought they were both very unique and interesting ideas that you're very passionate about.

2. How do you think the modes mentioned for ‘The Decline’ (Observational and Reflexive) could be used to their full extent? Are there other modes more suitable?

Responses:

  • Maybe participatory? It could give a very personal touch on it which would make it more impacting?
  • Observational is great mode as it would allow for us to see what life is truly like with this disease.
  • Observational seems good as its looking into sound, possibly it could be expository so you could have a voice over.

3. How can I make the point of the documentary (The Decline) any clearer?

 Responses:
  • I genuinely think its perfect the way it is.
  • No clue. It is incredibly clear as it is :)
4. Looking at ‘Recreated’, how could I improve the documentary to reach the young audience and encourage them to look into sound designing?

 Responses:
  • Maybe look into cartoons and how they make sound effects
  • Perhaps have a lot of interactive and fun stuff included in the doc.
  • Covering things such as how to become a folly artist or what kind of pay being a folly artist can bring may help for people to aspire to become a folly artist.
     
  • A younger audience would enjoy lots of almost comedic interactive elements cause children are more likely to focus more.
5.

How do you think the modes mentioned for ‘Recreated’ (Expository and Participatory) could be used to their full extent? Are there other modes more suitable?

Responses:
  • Participatory could be good as it would add a new dimension to the doc.
  • I feel as if the chosen modes were correct, however i also think a poetic documentary about folly could be very interesting covering the making of sounds played side by side with the actual footage from the film
  • I feel like these modes are very suited to the topic
